Many courses are available to suit different people’s needs, and there are even ones especially designed for women. This is a bit more of a pricey option, but just like with the tools, once you know how to do simple jobs yourself you will never have to call someone out again. There are also other cheaper options such as simply teaching yourself using youtube videos and tutorials. This is also good as you can usually find out how to do the specific job you are looking for and you can rewind the video as many times as you need!

It may not be the best option for some, especially for those of you who work long hours, however it really can save you a big chunk of money in the long run and once you have had a bit of practice you could even make a bit of spare cash by doing small jobs for your friends and family. It is obvious to leave the big jobs, for example fitting kitchens, to the professionals unless you have a lot of time on your hands, however simple DIY is quick and easy to learn and you might also find yourself enjoying it.
